My life's to-do list

Eat at an Outback Steakhouse x2

This item is pretty straightforward. I have seen the commercials and have always wanted to go down under. Since, a trip to Australia is out of the realm of reality now, eating out at a themed restaurant is just going to have to do for now. I know eating at an Outback is about as authentic Australian as a Taco bell is authentic Mexican but nonetheless the commercials made it seem really delicious.

This item was actually completed twice, if anybody is keeping count. The first time I visited this eatery was in Puerto Rico. The issue was that I don’t remember eating here in Puerto Rico. The hotel we were staying at had a free 2 hour cocktail hour, and I took full advantage of the hotel, drinking way too much. apparently according to Kit my sober-er companion, We did make it to the Outback that night. And I very much enjoyed it. Even though our waiter probably wanted to throw me off of El Morro, if you didn’t know I can get quite rambunctious when I have been over-served.

I was incredibly drunk in this picture, but that didn’t deter me from ordering a Wallaby Darned. Delicious.

So in all fairness to this list, I felt I had to re-do this item. Actually, I just wanted another excuse to go back and try the chicken wings that I slightly remember enjoying. If you remember awhile back, Kit and I didn’t make it to Bermuda the first time we tried to go and that seemed like a perfect time to revisit this list item.

Here are some of the pictures. Stay tuned to the site, Kit and I have just booked our next trip in two weeks to Barcelona (with a long layover in Geneva and a day trip to Andorra) and I’m sure I will try my hardest to knock off a list item or two while we are there.

An American Pub Crawl

Have a beer in every state

This isn’t a completed task at all, in fact I’m only 22% done with it. Nonetheless this is one of my favorite items to get done, since it combines my love of traveling and drinking. The rules for this one are simple. I must have a beer in every state, I can buy the beer, steal it, chug it, whatever. I just need to drink a beer within the state lines. I haven’t decided if I’m going to count drinking at an airport lounge, if I don’t leave the airport. (ie a layover or something along those lines.) I also won’t count drinking on a train moving through any states. Not to say I won’t drink on a train, I just will not count it towards the end total.

Here is a map of the states I have drunk in thus far. It is also posted permanently on the right sidebar of the blog. I’m going to add all the places I have drunk in and maybe a mini review of the bar I drank in.

A bottle of the good stuff

Drink a bottle of Shiraz

Pretty straight forward with this item. After reading cigar review after cigar review from an Australian who paired almost every fine Cuban cigar he had with an expensive bottle of Shiraz, I wanted a piece of the good life. My plan was to buy myself an expensive bottle and enjoy it with a cigar, but after being gifted a bottle from a co-worker as a goodbye gift, I decided that Christmas dinner with Kit’s family was just as good as any time to try it.

It was yummy. So, yummy in fact I finished about 6 glasses on my own. All within about 2 hours. Needless to say  , I was feelin’ nice. Oh so nice.

This last picture shows my glass on the right compared to Kits’. She apparently thought that I had drunk enough wine for the night and that I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between Shiraz and water with red food coloring. Little does she know, that I have a very sophisticated palate, and no matter how good the food coloring did indeed taste, it still did not hold up to my very discerning taste buds.
